There is a group of books called "Nutshells" on each specific topic in the law that are pretty easy to understand and can help you out. For example, I found "Agency, Partnership, and the LLC in a Nutshell" very good.

The nutshell series was not very helpful to me...BUT...they are a relatively simple read.

Most law school libraries have teh entire nutshell series available to look at and possibly check out.

Beyond that, there are not a lot of books that sum up law topics in very short boks. You may want to see if anybody in your area has a BarBri outline around. I have found them to be very helpful.

Whatever you do, please understand that reading a book or two can be dangerous if you act upon somehting you read without understanding that many different areas of law go together to answer a single question. Also, please understand that many areas of law are controlled by state specific case law, statutes, regulations, etc. Most of the nuthsell like books are VERY gneral!!!
