I think that stinks - that's happened to me a few times.
While I don't know about radio in your area - I will say that I am so totally digging Yahoo Launchcast. It is customizable and has way fewer commercials than regular radio. Granted, it won't work in the car (I had to turn to CDs and tapes) but it's great at home or in the office!
