With constant war, the increase of gas prices and global inflation, how much of a future do our descendants have? Will they learn from our mistakes (as we hope) or will they fall along the same path we have?

I think the future will be much like the past, times of war and strife followed by times of prosperity. I would imagine that many felt the way that you do following WWI and WWII, both times of massive political upheaval and and uncertanty, but the bad times are followed by good times. The good times reach a peak and the gears of the war machine start to turn again. This is the cycle of our our history as humans.

Hey you people, perk up! there are some bumps in the road, but the future is shaping up great. Note:
1. The incredible, asymptotic rise in science knowledge.
2. First steps toward going to the stars rolling on.
3. Communication revolution making even the most backward societies now aware of what they can have.
4. Increasing realization globally that socialism doesn't work and that free markets and free people means progress and prosperity.
5. The overwhelming superiority of the USA- because we are the world's good guys and this in itself portends a great future.

They'll be paying for the war. Literally. Think the expenses will only be dumped on us? Heck no. We'll be coughing up the money along with them. Expect higher taxes, gas prices, oil prices, etc.

Things really are starting to look bleak, aren't they? Kinda weird- I just finished the Left Behind series a year ago and read the Revelation chapter in the Bible. Israel really is starting to come in the picture now.

There has always been wars going on, that is nothing new. As for prices, they fluctuate, they have been high in the past and dropped back down eventually. They may seem much higher now but the cost of living is much higher. People look at things in the world and say there is more of this and more of that, but in reality you just hear more about it, communications are better then they used to be.

The future's looking pretty bright, to be honest. The good far, far outweighs the bad. If you look at the past, this is really the best time to be alive, ever, and the future is only looking better. Progress just takes a bit.

In the mean time, its important not to throw up your hands and declare that all is lost. That sort of thing is a self-fulfilling prophecy - to declare defeat is what would push us most towards defeat.

Did we learn from our ancestors mistakes? Yes and no, I suppose. God has said the times will become increasingly evil, before His return, and I hate to admit it, but aren't we looking like the end times are near. I don't like to get all revelations on things, but it seems to be the only explanation for man's inhumanity to man. We have one hope and that is in Jesus, so it won't be lost!! Pray for those who are lost and for our time to be spent doing the Lord's work, and before we know it, we could be gone in the blink of an eye. Blessings.

I think that some things will be learned but only for them to make their different mistakes. Its really sad that we are giving them this future tho..most people only think of what doing the things you said does to us now or in a not-to-distant future but really the people that are going to pay with our mistakes and experiments are our distant(super distant) family members.

whats happening now is what happened when Christians wanted to kill all muslims. it was i think 500 - 600 yrs ago. and still we havent learned.

well, we can only hope for the best. but if you can see, there are people who are trying to make our world a better place.

i guess what im saying is, let's hope for the best. give our best to the world and see if we can change the world around us for the better.

They will have a good life if they believe in Jesus, the Son of God, and live their lives the way he said to. Jesus promised to never leave us believers. With God as my friend, who shall I fear? Raise your kids and grandkids in the Way, and they will always have a good future.
