You certainly need talent to write poetry and control the rhythm of your voice. Like anything, there are good rappers and bad ones. I think ppl who say that are uneducated about the art form. Maybe they feel like you need to be able to play a musical instrument to have talent.
And no, I can't rap a lick LOL

Not only do I agree talent is NOT required in rap: but each hour, more and more people are jaded/bored with rap--and they too agree.
Rap's dying a slow deserved death; frankly, I'm surprised it lasted far longer than Disco.

i have no passion for it or intrest in rap at all but if i really put my mind to it, even for a second i can come up w. a really good rap and its fast and good as if i took time to do it. so yea i think u can just do it

that's bullcrap, you have to basically be a master of the english language as well as its slang/euphemisms, and your words have to roll off the tongue but still be audible, oh and you can't be white
