I just saw the movie and I'm a little lost. The guy said over and over "One ring to rule them all"...apparently a reference to Lord of the Rings, but I've never seen the movie Lord of the Rings. What does this mean when he says "One ring to rule them all"?

in lotr one ring to rule them all is that there are so many magical rings in the world but one of them is the most powerful and it calls all the other rings to it and all the bad people can feel its energy and the person who has the most powerful ring basically controls all.
