You're probably really stressed out. I get streaks of nightmares when I'm stressed. Try to relax or do away with the stressor and they should go away.

Something running through your subconscious mind? I used to dream that I was drowning and would always wake up in a cold sweat and gasping for air, like someone would do if they were held under water for an extensive period of time. Course, I started keeping a log of when I was having the dream and found that I kept having the dream whenever I was extremely stressed about something - Hence, the feeling of suffocation.

If you can, try to remember your nightmare. Write it down if you wake up afterwards and make a mental note of what has been going on during the week or on that day. Try to see if you can relate the nightmare to something currently happening in your life.

There's nothing wrong with you. Everyone dreams. Everyone has nightmares. It's just the way your brain and subconscious function.

Is it the same nightmare, or different ones? I think if it's the same one, then there is an unresolved stressor there. If there are different themes, could be a few things. One thing I would suggest is not to fall asleep with the television on. And don't read scary things before bedtime. Also, eating certain foods can trigger nightmares, has your diet changed? Listen to soft music to fall asleep to.

It could be a couple of things. It could be that you some some unresolved issue or fear in your life that your subconscious is bringing up in a dream state.

Or it could be some form of spiritual/demonic harrassment. In either case, the answer is to pray to God and to seek his aid and direction for your life as you experience his love for you.

1 John 4:15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 And we have come to know and believe the love which God has in us. God is love, and he that abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17 By this love has been perfected with us: that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because just as He is, we also are in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment. But he that fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us.
