my friend told me that i can still get pregnant even though that i have had my tubes tied???

she said that she had her tubes tied cut and burned and since i did not have them tied burned and cut i could still get pregnant,i would love to have another baby w/my fiance....

It is less riskier than trying and trying and being emotionally disappointed, or having potential birth challenges.

Pregnancy isn't likely whatever the method used to do the tubal. Clips placed on the tubes have a slightly higher failure rate but unfortunately most of the pregnancies after any kind of procedure are etopic. The tubes are usually so badly damaged that the fertilized egg can't move normally from the tube to the uterus. It starts to develop in the tube where it will grow till it ruptures the tube,which is an emergency and will require surgery. In my 20 years of working with women I can only think of a couple of pregancies after tubal that actually produced a baby. If you really want to have another child the surgeries to reopen the tubes are getting better and more affordable-still 5-10 thousand dollars with a sucess rate of less than 50%.There are clinics that do nothing but reversals on tubal and vasectomies and some claim 80-90% success but I don't believe that.If you do a search for "tubal reversal" you'll get all kinds of info. I just had this procedure done about a month and a half ago. My doctor told me that it did not matter which of the three were done, as long as they were separated, there would be no more pregnancies. You may want to ask your doctor if there is any possible way to reverse the procedure. I never asked about that prior to having it done, so I can't say. I know that vasectomies can be, so I figure it may be possible for the female to have it reversed as well, but I am no doctor. Best of Luck to you.

This can definitely happen because my mother had her tubes tied and about four years later she ended up pregnant with my now little brother who is like almost fourteen years younger than me, so I would advise you to take other precautionary measures. And I must say that my brother was absolutely healthy with no problems whatsoever and he is now a teenager.

It's rare, but it happens. A local news anchor where I used to live got pregnant 9 years after having them tied cut & cauterized.

Well, some sperm could get through but it wouldn't be safe to get pregnant that way because of the fact that the egg might not come out and you could have an ectopic pregnancy. You could try to get the procedure reversed.

its happened to my friends relative, she had her tubes tied and still became pregnant, but something was wrong with the baby though.

Im sure you could but odds of naturally are slim... you would have to harvest eggs, have them fertilized and implanted... also if they are just tied cant that be reversed.... best bet would be to ask your doctor

It is rare but not impossible but be careful you could have a tubular pregnance..Which isn't good and could probably cause you serious harm...Check with your doctor . Your girlfreind may mean well and so do I but hey Dr. knows best
