There's kind of a 2 part answer to this for me. My dad is my hero because ever since I was born until about 5 years ago, my dad was a policeman. He went out into the public every day he worked and put his life on the line for them. It always terrified me that one day he wouldnt come back home, but every day he did and I always made sure that I hugged him, he knew I loved him and how much I appreciate what he did. And because of that (my 2nd part to the question) all policemen/policewomen (except the dirty ones of course lol) are my heroes as well because they risk their lives to protect us.

This may sound typical but my hero is really my mother. I wont go into my family history/problems but in the smallest nutshell possible, she was a single mother for the most part. She had my stepdad around then they married but he passed away 5 yrs later. She raised me & my little sister alone, putting me thru college, providing us with everything we need/needed to be the young ladies that we are today. She has always pushed me to do my best, encouraged(es) me to get up & get moving if I want something, & she always has a strong front up even when we know she is crying inside. She deals with alot of our family problems & she puts up with her "overworked but underpaid" job. Anyone that can deal with all that & more & still be as cool as she is to this day, is a hero to me.

My hero was my father in law. He was the first person who acted as my father and helped me grow from a scared little girl into a successful woman.
He taught me to play tennis, a sport I love. He encouraged me to learn how to drive, at 25. After learning how to drive and going back to college, he bought me a computer. He thought it would help me study at home and get through school easier, since I had three small kids.
When I was in school, he took care of my family. He made sure we had food and the kids were cared for.
When I ran out of gas or locked myself out of the car, I could always call him and he was there. He was always there whenever I needed him.
After he passed away, I was driving home from work one day and as I watched the traffic moving, I thought to myself... "how can the world just keep going on without him here?"
I still miss him today and always, my hero, my dad.

Mahatma Gandhi.
He lived by a true creed of non-violence and freed a nation.
He inspired Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who followed the Mahatma's teachings and freed a people.
It was said, after the Mahatma's assassination, that it would be hard for people to believe that such a man existed.
And yet he did. And he was murdered on his way to prayer.

John Lennon. He was such an Iconic figure in our world that really never gets the credit he deserves as both a musician & a humanitarian. I still can't believe that someone would have the creultey in his heart to murder someone like him. R.I.P Lennon, We all miss you.

you know... a hero can be the most famous person in the world, but who really has affected your heart and life the most? is it really someone who you've never talked to? someone about whom you don't even know all the personal stuff? i believe that my hero is God, but if it needs to be a person, its my mom... she's amazing and is the best role model i could ask for... and besides, she's my mom.... just pick the person who you think that if she/he didn't exist, your life would not possibly be the same one bit.... its the person who's inspired you the most and who you admire most... maybe you will pick a famous person... its the heart!!! well God bless you!!!

I suppose my father and mother were my heros. They overcame so much, and lived such great lives. They raised 8 outstanding children and opened their home to anyone who was hurting. I know redemption because they showed me the power of redemption in their lives.
I could also name presidents and founding fathers of the US. We owe such a great debt to so many who have sacrificed so much for posterity. I give the nod to my parents because they laid it all on the line for me. I believe in God so strongly because of their example.

You know, I think my hero might be Athenacious. He stood for what he believed in even though even his friends mocked him. It takes a lot of strength to be that sort of person.
