whenever i listen to rock they get pised and they say its devil music i know this shits bean going on sinve the 80s but i didnt live in the 80s any one have any ideas

They are set in their ways. Just dont mention it to them and do your own thing.

I'm not sure why some parents do that. Are they really religious maybe that's why?
Whatever it is, if that's what you're into then they'll have to deal with it.
I'm sure my mom doens't like the music I listen to, heavy metal blasting throughout the house isn't her idea of what her daughter should be listening but she just accepts it as part of who I am and what I like.
you're parents will get over it.

lol rock has been known as devil's music alot longer then since the 80's that reponse tells me your very young and all you can do while your at home is make sure they do not hear you listening to it and try to get along till your old enough to make your own decisions

You have to remember that a parents #1 objective is that they have to protect you so in everything that you do they are asking is this good for my child? You may think that something as small as music is so stupid but it is only reinforcing that you can trust them. It may be small and you may not understand it but I assure you that they only have your best interest at heart. I agree that maybe you need to explain the lyrics and hopefully they will understand better but remember if they dont then this may be just something that you have to negotiate with them. Good Luck.

Like the others so correct,but really you gotta look at it ,situation?you are under their roof and yes!it,s not their taste in music!get you some ear plugs which will exempt alot of static!like the others either or,however you wanna do it is fine but respect is respect and it starts in the home?Respect your roof!mostly them!

I would assume that your parents are worried about your well being. They probably care a great deal. Not to be rude, but if you put as much energy in learning to spell as you probably do in learning new rock songs, they might not mind quite so much.

WHY DON'T YOU DO THIS........... BUY A COLLEGE FIGHT SONG, CRANK IT UP ON YOUR HI FI, GET ALL DECKED OUT IN SOME BATTON TWIRLING OUTFIT AND START MARCHING AROUND THE HOUSE, OUTSIDE IN THE YARD, IN THE SHOWER, AND TO THE DINNER TABLE. YOU DO THIS EVERY DAY. THEY WILL CRACK AND LET YOU LISTEN TO WHAT EVER YOU WANT.

ok ok parents will try to tell you what to listen to or not to listen to.its thier way of trying to take over our lives.just tell them that you love them and the music and that you would die without them and the music.
