when their toes hang off the sides, or their heel hangs off back or sides? It's ugly and it only makes them like they have big feet. I know they think It makes their feet look smaller, but it don't it does the opposite.

same reason men buy condoms that are to big its an exception thing they think that they wont be cool if they have shoesize 8 so they squeaze into a 6. because thats whast excepted a size 6 ,7 shoe people love that and you can find better shoes in those sizes. its also like having a smaller waist people like that it has a certian sexy look to it just like smaller feet. most woman dont like long feet im a size nine an as a female i dont really like having feet that long because its not exactly what society calls pretty because a size 7 shoe or 3 dress is looked at as being a size for woman but i wear my size nine shoes with pride and i look darn good in them i have shoes i size nine that would give sarah jessica parker a run for her money. but thats me not every woman can be proud of her feet

You answered your own question. They think it makes their feet look smaller, but it does the opposite. Just like wearing clothes that are too small. Unless you are incredibly lean and fit, seeing rolls of fat hanging over pant waists, under bras, or squishing out arm holes is not attractive. It makes you look like you are not intelligent enough to dress yourself properly.

I don't know, maybe because they think petite feet are cute. I used to get shoes that were too big because I have wide feet, but I've found that smaller sizes suit me better. (Even worse, in my opinion, are women who wear bras that are too small so it looks like they have quad-boobs.)

Because most women are more interested in the fashion than the correct fit of the shoe (and this goes for garments too).

i have no idea. shoes run in different sizes depending on the brand and style. some girls i guess stick to that one number and dont budge, even if the shoe is to big or small
