By playing cowboys and Indians, literally. It took over 125 years but slowly but surely the railraods, army, and settlers moved west until the frontier was offically declared closed in 1900 (meaning you could now travel safely from east to west without being attacked by Indians). All those John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies were made about just that.

1 out of every 4 Christians in the world are Catholic. But the Catholic Church has changed over the years, just like the numbers have. Some Catholic Churches are old fashion, and some are more modern and lenient. That's why most people brake off into Protestant churches. As for the "no religion" people, some people that believe in God choose not to call it a "religion". Have you ever heard the saying "Jesus is my savior. Not my religion." It pretty much means worship God the way the bible says to, not the way man-made religious groups tell you to. As for the atheist, more people are becoming too smart, and thinking science is the key to everything.

Andrew Jackson was monumental in setting the stage. First prez elected that wasn't from New England, he HATED Indians as he had fought them in Florida as a general.

Read "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee" to gain more insight, but the US government sponsored brainwashing by Christians, genocide, and concentration camps. The US Supreme Court ruled in a famous case -- Standing Bear vs. US Government that Native Americans were not afforded any protections by the US Constitution.
