I hope I don't have schizophrenia but I am considering seeking counseling but I am scared to bceause I have had horrible experiences with it before - like I have depression and was denied meds for 11 years and told I was making it up to get attention or being a manipulative brat. Now more people know it is out of my control because it is a medical condition due to chemical imbalance. I am educated, eat right, don't drink or smoke or do drugs, and try to be a good person. Thoughts?

Feeling that people know you even though you have never met doesn't seem unusual. Like everyone, you have more in common with other people than you have differences. So why shouldn't they know you in a way?
It's good that you're asking for help if you are not feeling right and don't know what to do. Maybe you will find someone you can talk with. Even if they can't give you the answers, you will learn a lot just by talking about it. Look for the good, inside and outside; it's there!

I went through a serious anxiety disorder years back which made me afraid to leave my home or be around strangers. I eventually took medication. My brain lack seratonin which is a chemical your brain uses to keep level. If you need meds, no matter what others opinions take them, but.....be sure to find out before hand about symptoms and if this is an addictive medication you are taking. Research your options then make a decision. The meds worked for me and 4 years later, i am no longer using them. Seems that having children and the hormone changes brought it out.

I think I see the answer within your question. You need to do drugs and drink, and then mellow out (within reason of course pudding)

Here's a scenario for you: A little weed, a Dr. Pepper, a funny movie and a bag of Cheetos (I prefer puffy) If you're still depressed after that, we'll move to phase 2 of the therapy.

I would take counseling..I think that would help. People come up to me and say "OMG you look soooooooooooooo familiar" and I dont know them from Adam. Good luck with this.
