just got my period for the first time and my mom is tired of me asking questions. TO THE INTERNET!

You should change a tampon when it gets full, but never more than 8 hours. If you sleep more than 8 hours, sleep with a pad to be safe. You can get toxic shock syndrome. Its rare, but possible. Best to be careful

You should change every 4 to 8 hours. It depends on how heavy and the asorbancy you are using. It is ok to wear one through the night, but put a pad on too just to be sure. Its no fun getting up in the morning and finding out the tampon wasn't enough.

Also, it is good you can ask your mom questions. Maybe take a break and ask her somemore tomorrow.

its recommended uchange it that often to avoid tss (toxic shock syndrome) and lots of things say to alternate your tampon/pad use i e ... maybe wear a pad at night but thats a personal choice
