Is it possible to have a negative pregnancy test.?

i have bought two cheap pregnancy test from the dollar store and both have come out negative. but im late on my period and my periods are always regular. Im trying to conceive. so ...

You might want to spend the extra money and get an EPT test.....the cheap ones will do that....Plus you may not have enough HcG in your system yet

Pregnancy tests are very basic and cheap to make, so the ones you buy at the dollar store work just as well as the ones you spend $12 on. It is possible to have a negative result if you're pregnant, because it's possible that the hormones haven't built up enough yet to register positive in the test. Wait a week and try again, cheap test or not. If you don't want to wait, go to the doctor, they can do a blood test, which can tell sooner than a urine test if you're pregnant or not. Until you know you're NOT, assume you are and take care of yourself. Good luck.

Invest in a better test. They are more sensitive and accurate.

You can also purchase tests online for under $2 each. If you are trying to conceive then you'll also want a test to detect when it is the best time to conceive. They are also under $1 or $2 each.

I would try a better brand of test, or go to the doctor and have them perform the test. I would never trust a cheap brand that has not been proven to work, at least that is my personal opinion. Most urgent care clinics can perform the test in their office rather than making a costly appointment with your physician. If you want to try another at home, I suggest EPT.

stress can cause your period to be late. I know many women who have used the dollar store tests, I'm sure if you compare them to more expensive ones they are the same. good luck and try not to think about it, just let it happen so you dont get so disappointed every month you get your period. it could take awhile to happen. well hope it happens soon for you!

Either:

1) go see a doctor and confirm this, or
2) buy a reliable test kit. The dollars spent on this are worth it comparing to the uncertainty brought to you by the cheap ones.

Keep testing. I got many negatives during my first seven weeks. I didn't get a positive until I abstained from peeing and drinking water for several hours prior to testing.

You could be late or your body could not be excreeting enough HCG enough for a test to read. Wait a couple of days and, if still no period, try another test.

dollar store tests are just as good as the more expensive ones. if you want to try a more expensive test, then go for it. if you really want to be sure, call your doctor and ask for a blood test.
