i dont get it if athrun likes cagalli how come he not with her and he is with meyrin hawke and i know that wikipedia siad its one-sided but i believe its not is it ? then wat will happen

In the beginning of Gundam SEED DESTINY, I believe that it was a very mutual love between Athrun and Cagalli. However, as time progressed, the angsty plot of the series kind of threw them in for a loop. It was more like they were obligated to be with each other, out of familiarity and routineness, than them being together out of love.
And, naturally, the fighting caused them to be separated. They were both on two opposing sides. Athrun, ever the indecisive wangsty main character, ponders things and is distracted by other girls. In the end, they decide to split because of complications. It's not really concrete whether they are actually apart though. Athrun and Meyrin were just walking together in the last episode, right?
... but then again, she DID strip right in front of him. Athrun's a bit superficial, if you ask me. Sorry if this answer is slightly opinionated - hope it helped though!

Ah. The ultimate ASUxCAGAxMEYRIN Debate!
Athrun and Cagalli were never meant to be lovers, accdg. to the scriptwriter, but eventually, somehow, fans got in the way and boom! They became lovers, technically. Then somewhere in the messed up plotlines of Destiny, "someone" just started pairing Athrun with Meyrin, to the dismay of all the AsuxCaga fans.
Personally, I think that Athrun decided to stay away form Cagalli for a while to let her focus on the numerous tasks that she must do after the war. I think he just follows Meyrin to make her happy, although he doesn't really love her as much as he loves Cagalli. Also, he doesn't have the power yet, to be able to truly protect Cagalli and her country. And even worse, a CoordinatorxNatural wedding has never ever taken place (but all fans here are dreaming of that day, me included).
The bottomline is: Athrun is such a kind-hearted person, especially to ladies, that's why everyone just falls in love with him.

i think it's really cuz athrun gets attracted to girls easily and also meer tried to attract athrun by purpose dido that wit meyrin hawke...and personally it seems to me that athrun cheated on cagalli...there wasn't a scene in Gundam seed Destiny that showed that they actually broke up wit each other so ya....and i think that only meyrin hawke likes athrun...athrun doens't rele like her...i felt that athrun likes cagalli deep inside through the series...but i guess he somehow got away.... remember before he left i think in ep 8 or something he gave her this ring cuz he was i guess scared or worried that cagallli would go wit yunna...and to show her that they are actually in a relationship....

lol. Not really, but seriously, I love MS Gundam SEED, and so I was going to answer and then, to my horror its about MS Bundam SEED Destiny! which I have not seen yet!
