I recommended shareaza in atleast 7 answers here on yahoo answers. It cannot contain spyware as it is licensed under GPL. Don't download it from websites you don't trust, because it's license allows anyone to modify or bundle some other software in it.

I LOVE Shareaza. It has Limewire, plus several other networks streaming simultaneously.
If you concentrate only on MP3 files, you probably will not be subject to a virus. Though always keep virus protection software up to date. I have used Shareaza for several months, and have never had a problem.
Shareaze is free.
Just as with Limewire, make sure your firewall is disconnected.

Click on the Music jump button and it will take you down to several links where you don't need software or membership or anything. All of the links go to Christian music, but a couple of them that say "secular" site go to the Christian sections of sites that have all types of music for free.
