The dermatologist said for cystic acne they prescribe Acutane. They completely made sure we were aware of the multiple side effects and even provided a notebook with tons of information. The scariest part for me to read was something like "some patients have had thoughts of suicide. And some have died." Literally that last sentence was in there and it scared the crap out of me. I wouldn't consider I have SEVERE acne at all. It's just those annoying bumps that won't seem to smooth out. I want to know if there's anything else out there I can take before Acutane because it's something I'm not looking forward to. Someone recommended Vitamin A but I have no clue...any other advice? I appreciate the help, thanks so much for the answers

Yeah, I already tried Proactiv and just about everything over-the-counter I would say. Even some prescribed pills and facial wipes. It sucks :(

Hi, I would recommend Clear Advantage from Arbonne. I hear that people have had great results with this product, but that it does take about four weeks to start seeing results. You can go to www.wonderful.myarbonne.com to check it out.

Oh honey, don't take that stuff! I took it for 8 months after I had my first child. My hair fell out, my nose bled and I ended up in the emergency room with heart palpitations. I was like you, not terrible acne, but some bumps. I have since tried Pro Active. I don't mean to sound like a commercial, but that stuff works better for me than the Accutane did. My stomach is also screwed up as a result of the Accutane. I have irritable bowel syndrome and my dr. told me it was probably from the Accutane. That stuff is so bad. I'm not trying to scare you, but that was my experience. Try the Pro Active and if you still have problems, you may want to see about the accutane then.

INNOXA has good products from its YOUNG SOLUTION label. There are different types of products such as lotions, soaps and etc... I've myself used them and the effects were quite good. But if you'd like to have a definite solution to your acne problem, you'll have to make a continuous and regular use of them. These products should be available in a nearby pharmacy. Best of luck!
