Yep.

One of you needs to be "treasurer".

Treasurer ALWAYS collects ALL income and immediately deposits in bank.

Then you two sit down once a week and approve expendiatures, NEVER greater income.

Then treasurer writes checks to pay bills, and withdraws petty cash for each of you for that week.

When i was in the military I worked 2 jobs to make ends meet
try not eating out find coupons for stores to bring the price down if your husbands work with someone around were you live carpool find alternative ways to save money it is hard and you have to hold yourself to a budget.

One thing that worked for me and my husband is when we filled out our tax forms at work we filled in that an additional amout ($10 for each) taken out so that when we filed our taxes not only did we get our regular tax return but an additional amount so that it was bigger. With the extra amount we put into an interest bearing account and still had our regular tax refund to do as we pleased. It really worked. $20 each week for 52 weeks really adds up and its not a whole lot when broke up that way.

Im a single mom I feel your pain!!
Best solution....find things you can live without like cable or anything you can think of and put that money in a separate account for bills you are behind on.....if there isn't anything contact a finical adviser, they can help you get on the right track.

Good luck...i know it's rough!
