Why would you want to stop it? That means that 75 to 98 % of the processor is available. :) If your machine is running slow, you should check the memory first. Not the processor.

Sys Idle is fine - prob is being caused by something else.

Things to check if you are running XP:
1. CURRENT antivirus.
2. All Windows Updates for your PC.
3. Anti spyware (Windows Defender, Spybot Search&Detroy, Ad-Aware, Spyblaster, Yahoo! Antispy and any others other Yahoo! users suggest).

Try this site:

Runtime Errors and others:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;255058

Also, you may have a lot of spyware. First run tool and then download the free spyware and virus protection program. That should help.

Malicious virus removal tool:

Ad-Aware Free download:

AVG Download free

Also, don't forget to delete your temporary internet cache files:

Go to "tools""internet options" "delete files", then "delete cookies", then "clear history"...that should speed up your pc.

Good Luck

Check your memory and remove programs and processes you don't need running.
