I would think so...

Absolutely not. I'm assuming you are talking about a Superman type super hero. Superman is not strong enough to hurt himself. So, his super skin would stop his super x-ray vision.

Now, from an X-Man point of view, the purpose of eyelids is to block vision so you can sleep, protect the eyes, whatever. Therefore, the super hero with with any kind of eye beam power would be immune to the power and therefore could block it with his own eyelids.

Assuming they activated that ability, yes.

Of course, if their X-Ray vision was on constantly, they could see through their eyelids constantly... and that would make sleeping extremely difficult for them, unless the room was pitch black. They would also run right into things that are not dense enough to see in X-Ray mode...

Yeah, that would make for a really tired and clumsy super hero, if their X-Ray vision was stuck on.

No like us they cannot see through their own eyelids.

In addition, most super heroes with x-ray vision can turn it on and off, as well as set the depth of penetration.

NO!!!!! Their eyelids are made of SUPER SKIN and thus are not subject to X ray vision.

That's like asking if Superman could yank his own wang off....no he could not becuase his wang is also SUPER.

No, it is a bit different X-ray vision. They can't penetrate through flesh, but can penetrate through clothes :-)
