Say a kid wants to go to a camp in mountains and could cost the family $400...how could the family raise the money without using their monthly income.
Especially if they are unable to pay? Please don't say...don't send him. The child shouldn't suffer because the parents can't afford it. Thanks in advance for your considerate answers! )

I have the same issue. I contacted the organization sponsoring the camp to see if any scholarships (full or partial) were being awarded. If not, contact a local church for possible help. Last, but not least, my kids LOVE having yard sales with a lemonade/hot dog stand.

Use fund raisers. Some involve a little work, like a car wash, or selling baby sitting services. Some fast food restaurants will donate 10% of the days receipts from patrons with a flyer.

Subsidize all kids, and pay all for the needy ones.

Ask for charitable donations around your community, maybe even in return for a small service. It is going to be hard raising 400 dollars but I believe it can be done. Hope this helps.

Don't send him. What world do you live in where the parents finances don't affect kids? I wouldnt be ther person I am today If I had not gone without as a child, taught me frugality.
