Father a 0 as a child, as an adult, a 6.
Mom as a child 5, as an adult a 8.
My father abused my mom and us kids, also he was an alcoholic. He no longer abuses anyone, and he has not drank in many years, however on certain aspects he still can use improvment. My mom was not around much as my brother, sister and myself were growing up. She still says and does things she shouldn't do.
Would I change who my parents are? Sometimes yes because of my childhood. I know as an adult they were lessons well learned because I knew that as a parent I wanted to be a whole parent for my children, meaning no drugs, alcohol or abuse. I think so far I have done a pretty good job.

I would rate my father in law an AA++ Before him, I would rate my grandmother an AA++
My own parents were a good example to me of how not to raise my children. They continue to be a great example of this today. I don't hold any hostility because of my father in law and grandmother. I had two wonderful parents that I adored and I learned a lot from about unconditional love, comfort and support.
I had two of the best parents in the whole world.

They are my heros! My parents did the best they could for me and still strive to make sure my family is well taken care of. If I ever needed anything, i know I could depend on them. Growing up, I didnt feel so great about them, but now that I am an adult and a parent, I see that what they did for me was in my best interest and I appreciate that. My parents rock!!

They may not be perfect, in fact they made all kinds of mistakes. But, they are the best ones I have and I am sure as hell going to appreciate their efforts and unconditional love. Besides, I don't know how I would have fed, clothed, and sheltered myself for the first 18 years of my life without them. Not to mention the morals and values they instilled me, the very definiton of right and wrong. And all the hard times you pull through with them can only make your relationship with your parents stronger in the long run.

All though I have struggled with my parents at time, they have been excellent. Most importantly, they've brought me up in the ways of the Lord. They've supported me in all of my endeavors, not to mention they've clothed and fed me for the past 18 years. It's important to remember these things, especially since I'm moving off to college 3 weeks from today!
