Adultery is a crime in the US Military, and is enforced from time to time when there is evidence. As for in the civilian world, it is not a crime but is is grounds for breach-of-contract. All a marriage is is a form of a legal contract. Under that contract in many states, adultery is considered a breach of contract, and grounds for a suit (divorce). But it should not be a crime. It is a civil law issue.

It probably should be a crime but here is what I think without having done any research on this:

1,It would be so hard to prove unless you had a video recorder in the bedroom.

2. The courts are always jammed full as it is and there would be 10 times the cases.

The adulterers usually pay with lifelong guilt and financial turmoil when they divorce. Many will still never learn though. I just cant believe a person would put their children's stability below their lustful thoughts.

If I were the RULER of this shithole country, and someday I will be, I would make it so that every man who ever commits adultery would first be castrated then thrown in jail. As for women how does lethal injection sound? In other words for the stupid people, YES!

An adulterer or adulteress should be lashed with a whip 10 times for a first offense, 20 times for a 2nd offense, and hanged on the third offense. Jails get too crowded and expensive to operate.

Are you shittin' me? Why do you care if some guy is boning some chick (or dude)? It's people like you that have caused the backlash against religion in government. You go too far in promoting a set of Biblical laws that everyone must live by.

Here's a piece of advice: live and let live. If some chick wants to plug her hole with a crucifix, a la The Exocist, who are you to say she can't? She will have to answer for her actions; she has fee will. She can sin or not according to her convictions, not yours.

This is a personal issue and not something for the courts. Stop expecting the government to make things right for you. Just dump the cheater and move on.

Apparently in many rural Asian communities women will cut of their husband's dick in the night if they caught him cheating.

You would need a jail the size of Texas to house them all.

And who foots the bill, the innocent spouse?

no, though in some states it technically still is possible to be thrown in jail for adultery.

No, the jails are overcrowded as it is. And that is between the husband and wife and no one elses business.
