You mean besides the fact that he ruined the Lakers franchise, cheated on his wife, doesn't pass the ball, carries the ball (and is never called for it), and being cocky? No idea....

It's a stigma
When he was a kid he was ranting and raving about how he wanted to be the show in LA and he won the argument when LA signed him. Shaq made that a lot easier by requesting a trade, otherwise I'm sure they would have tried to do another disfunctional season
So there's strike one because he was whiny
Then there was the rape thing. In the end he got off because he probably didn't rape her (or if he did she managed to find 2 other guys in her traumatized state and sleep with them too...) but the general public who doesn't care about basketball at all will just assume that he's rich and famous and got off like OJ
Strike 2: "Kobe is a rapist" is the headline of the day
Then he scored 81 points. This obviously means he didn't pass much. No one seems to blame the Raptors shitty defense though. 81 points is a big feat, I'm sure lots of players would love to score 81
IF YOUR PRECIOUS DWAYNE WADE DID YOU WOULD ALL START A DAMN RELIGION
So strike 3, people don't like Kobe because his past has labeled him a ballhogging rapist (the D-Wade thing wasn't directed at you, it was just part of my personal war)

Easy, everyone hates Kobe because hes so EASY to hate. You can make up **** as to why you hate him, you can't say you hate Shaquille or LeBron, or Dwayne, or any other guy with the same reasons since they haven't really anythin to hate about them. Plus, it's ALWAYS easy to hate one of the best players in the game today.
Kobe is great, people know it, and they hate it, because they say, look at this guy who went from good kid to bad, skipped college, is selfish, doesnt communicate with his teammates, split up a great duo in him and Shaquille (which is not his fault, but thats like a 5 page essay right there as to why it's not his fault for that), he was accused and it could be believed that he raped a 19 year old girl, hes dominant, and furthermore, hes dominant. People love to hate players who do all of that and ON TOP OF that all he is a GREAT player that pulls crazy shots out of his ***, plays a nasty man on man defense, and comes up in the clutch. It's easy for people to hate that kind of person, and thats what they see in Kobe, and thus, they hate...Nothing much you can do about it but hope that someday, they'll stop...But it's tough for them too...They got hate in their blood...

Wait a second. It was never proven that he raped a girl. There was a cash settlement involved to call it quits early.
The girl could very easily have just wanted money and schemed it perfectly. Also, she could have consented. Yes, that still makes Kobe a cheater, but not a rapist.

personally i don't know him, but how he represent hiself is not worth liking. You can be the best player in the world but with a f*cked up attitude ain't nobody gone wanna watch .Point blank the reason why I don't watch him is he a show off (shouldn't nobody have to leave a team because you was a ball hog). And he might be good in your eyes but then again you don't got to be around him all the time.
People watch cause he entertaining, and at the end of the day he gone run out of ways to entertain you'll.

You do know about the whole alleged rape thing(it was an extramarital affair at the very least), right? Then after that, there was the whole deal where he forced Shaq out of L.A. Before those incidents almost everyone loved him.

because of his arrogance and attitude. For instance, who doesn't get along with Shaq, he's one of the most likable person. Kobe Bryant, needs to get over him self and pass the ball. And do you see the size of his head? Really!!!

well, if you look at the big picture, he was accused of some misbehavior (you know what), then poured 81 points by himself to redeem his reputation. Besides, anyone who is already great, but decides to degrade himself by calling himself the "Black Mamba" deserves some hatred.
Or maybe some people just love Shaq more (I'm guilty)

He may be the best but he is unfaithful, selfish and he is a rat (when he was questioned by the police he said Shaq had done the same thing but paid off his accuser.

not many people like cocky, rich, sucessful people who cheat on their wife and make people so mad they have to move cross country to win a championship. He has got the skills that's for sure but he can't do it alone, even MJ proved that during his stint with the wizards
