a magician named david copperfield once during a show, had a paper rose with him, he walked to the public and gave it to a girl, but before he gave it to her he put a lighter under it and the paper rose burnt really fast and it wasnt a paper rose anymore but a real rose. i thought it was a GREAT trick to do to a girl, and i've been looking all over the internet to know how to do it but i've had no luck. does anybody known how to do this?! please! if you dont wanna share the secret with the world, then IM me in yahoo messenger please, all my life i've looked for this trick and learn how to do it! :( thanks.

here's a site that describes that night http://www-tech.mit.edu/V112/N13/copperfield.13a.html

before he made the paper rose (which he did really fast) he took the sheet of paper, made it into a paper ball and made it levitate and then after that in a matter of just like 2 or 3 seocnds he made the paper rose before he burnt it, i dunno how he could have wrapped the rose...

i can make some educated guesses.

the paper rose was probably made of flash paper. It would burn fast that way - almost instantaneously. The paper rose was probably wrapped around the real rose ( but there might have been sleight of hand here). If the real rose was fresh, i think there wold be enough water in it so that it wouldn't be harmed by the fire/heat of the flash paper.

the rest is probably sleight of hand and showmanship.

Just like a magician, you should practice before you try this.

also, be REALLY careful with the flash paper.
