I bought special soap to wash clothes in the sink with so I could take fewer items, most of the other travel stuff I have bought were things that pack better or were lighter than the everyday versions of the same products.
Stuff like; a small camera, folding comb/brush, little toothpaste, tiny flashlight, light weight socks, nylon packable windbreaker. The reason: needed the room, and didn't want to lug extra weight around on a three week trip were we carried this stuff almost every day.
