Trying to figure out if your water has broke can sometimes be just as hard as figuring out if you are really in labor.

Signs to look for are:

1. You have a feeling that you need to pee but when the fluid comes out it is clear and doesn't smell like urine.

2. Your water breaking isn't always in a gush. Sometimes the babies head can be wedged down and will stop the water from gushing. Then it will just come in a slow trickle.

3. Most times contractions will come right after your water breaking. (although not always)

4. The water will be clear or sometimes streaked with blood. It should not smell like urine or anything in particular.

5. Most times you have a mucus plus that will accompany your water breaking. A mucus plus is a small jelly-like substance that will be tinged with blood.

Good Luck to you!!!

I would say a little blood streaked and mainly clear. no smell. it is normally a big gush but not all the time. at first it is like a release of pressure then you will feel the pain coming on stronger and stronger!! Good luck if your gonna go tho it !!

It's ususally a clearish-blood streaked fluid and doesn't have a strong odor. But after that is when the real pain sets in.

it feels like peeing yourself... it can be clear, cloudy, slightly greenish... i don't really remember that it had a smell though...

IT'S NOT ALWAYS a big gush of water... it can be just a trickle that keeps going
