Spent 4 months including last Christmas in jail here - got released in March and have a suspended sentence for the next 4 years for assault. Not a good experience at all. Am 25.

I have been to jail and several maximum security prisons. I used to help train new deputies when I was 16 by acting out scenarios with other actors so they could have practice in dealing with crazy situations. (It's also the only time I've ever seen real drugs--when they hid some on me that they took from evidence for the deputies to find.) Also, in college I needed some extra credit in a CJ class, so I went on a tour of several prisons in California. Got to meet Eric Menendez. That was a real treat, let me tell ya'. As far as personal crimes or time served, I've only ever had one speeding ticket and no jail time came with that one.

Oh yeah! Once for public intoxication. Oh man that was hilarious. I threw a bottle across the dance floor. The second time was screeching my tires and then racing a cop to the next police station so it would be easy for them just to throw me in jail. Next, I stole a blanket from a homeless man. Then I showed my dance moves out in public and I guess it wasn't so good?? I think I took some clothes off that time. By the way I am 19.

yes, 28 days, all the charges were dismissed, because they did not have the evidence to prosecute me. the reason i stayed in for 28 days, i could not afford bail and the trial took that long to happen.
it was not any fun. you don't have a key to get out when you want to, (i know you know that) but sometimes while in there i just wanted to walk out of the joint, but couldn't, i was 21 years old.
don't do anything that will land you in jail, it is stupid to have any charges on your record. i have seen people who wanted a job, but they had a certain crime on their record and the company COULD not hire that person. KEEP YOURSELF CLEAN
