That is L.A. confidential - rolo tomasi was the name that detective exley gives to the man who killed his dad, and represents the embodiment of evil that he was trying to fight by becoming a cop... it was also used as a clever twist in the end (warning - spoiler!) because kevin spacey's character uttered it as his last words, and when dudley repeated them to exley, he knew that dudley was the bad guy who killed spacey.
