I know winter is a long ways away, but do you think more wildfires will be sparked off in the US?

Most of the wildfires occur in the intense summer heat, not the winter time. There's usually enough snow around to keep that from happening.

No no no no no no....
That wildfire is hard to be occuring in the winter season. The snow is actually the semi-solid shape of water. And having snow is just the same meaning like having the rain in the semi-solid ways. And that H2O molecules may extinguish the fire. So that is why I DON NOT think that the wildfire could occuring in the winter season.
