I am so please that you pass the praxis I the first time. Yeah I passed math and writing the like the first time, but not the reading. I have the kaplan book and I visited the website. I am more confident this time than ever. I think I will pass it next time, besides I studied more and I know that I can miss 18 questions and get a passing score. Yeah, VA has some very high scores.

that REALLY sucks. I bet you are in VA because we have the highest required score and one of the lowest payscales! Ironic huh? I'll pray for you. I would tell you to focus more on finding good test taking skills since its obvious you know the info and you are simply having a hard time taking the test, not knowing the info. We need more good folks out there like you!
I would also suggest going to the Kaplan website. They are pricy but their classes are used for kids who want to study for the ACT, SAT, LSAT, and MCAT tests. They do have a PRAXIS class you should be able to take in your area....Also buy the Kaplan PRAXIS study guide book. Good luck!

Test anxiety can be a killer. You need to relax.

Here are some test taking strategies. Read the questions FIRST, then read the essay or story. As you come across the answer to the questions stop and answer them.

When you are finished reread whatever questions you didn't find answers for -- answer those you can, and reread to answer those you can't.

The number one test taking rule is answer the easy questions first. If the test is timed, don't waste valuable minutes on a difficult question -- that could prevent you from answering two or three easier questions.

Finally -- if you absolutely have to guess on a multiple choice question, read the answers, eliminate the ones you know can't possiby be true - of the choices left, pick C if it is available. If it is not, choose the one neaest the bottom of the list.

Make sure you get plenty of sleep -- and eat a light meal just before the test. (Too much food makes you sluggish, not enough food and brain activity slows).
