I think it should be legal. Making it illegal will only increase the number of unsafe abortions. My own stance on it is relatively moot.

I only think abortion is ok in certain circumstances. Like if the woman was raped by a relative, if it poses a serious health risk for the mother, or other situations along these lines. I don't believe in abortion as a form of birth control because someone was too stupid to take the proper precautions. If you don't want a baby then wear a condom, take birth control, or something for crying out loud. What if your mother had aborted you??? I feel this way because I have had a miscarriage and know what a blessing to become pregnant is. I think abortions should be regulated by a doctor and only given in certain situations not so someone who couldn't keep her legs closed can "get rid of a problem". Oh for someone to think of a baby as a problem just baffles me. If you don't want the baby give it up for adoption there are plenty of people out there that would love to take your "problem" away!
And cutemamma330 did you forget about adoption???

I am pro choice and this is just something I have always been. I have been in the situation where my doctor and father suggested I get an abortion (I had had a major knee operation and didnt realise I was 5 weeks pregnant) but I went against their wishes and I now have a healthy 2 year old girl. I suppose I would say my mum did influence me a little when she told me about an abortion she had when she was 18 - because she realised her bf was a loser, so I wasnt against it and she kind of made me realise how hard it can be to make that choice so I respect people who do it - but NOT for some people (and one in particular that I know) who use abortion in leu of birth control. There should be a limit on abortions per person.

I am against it except in certain circumstances (incest, rape, mother's health). It was my upbringing, religion, and personal experience that all contributed. I also have cousins that were adopted, so I know that there are loving families that would do anything to have the opportunity to raise a child. There are so many options. Abortion is not the only or the best one.

I only agree with 7% of the abortions that occur. Those are the ones that occur because of rape or health risks to the mother or baby. I'm not a religious person but I still don't think it's right to murder your own child. The reason I'm against them in most cases is because of the fact that life grew inside me. It didn't matter to me on way or the other until I had kids. I don't think it should be illegal but reformed. I think women should only be able to get abortions when their life or the baby's life is in danger or they were raped. I think that all other circumstances should have to give birth to the baby. If they don't want to raise it, they can give it up for adoption. If they choose to have a backalley abortion done anyway, I won't feel sorry if they die or are unable to have children after that.

I believe abortion is wrong.
My belief is not just from my upbringing. It's not even just my religion. It's a feeling that I have when I think of any life being robbed of having that chance. There are so many arguments on whether or not it's a life before it's born or when does it become a life. I don't think it matters when it becomes a life, it's a life.
There is also the issue of so many parents out there who can't have children. While they would love to have just one child, people who get abortions are just throwing theirs away.
It's too easy of a way out for someone who has made a mistake. (Won't make a judgement call on pregnancy by violence, only God can judge.)

i am all for it! The main reason , you have that choice. If you feel you could care for the baby, and be there through the good bad and ugly then abortion is not for you.. However, if you don't think there is anyway you can care for a child then you have that choice.
I don't think people (mostly teens) realize how needy babies are. They are a lot more work then you can imagine. Now as far as $$, i don't think it should be the only factor when deciding to keep or have an abortion. I think.. no.. i KNOW that where there is a will there is a way! I speak from experience!

I'm against it.
I think it's murder, killing of innocent babies.
Life is present when sperm meets the ovum.
And I've seen scientific video of an abortion process, it's gruesome and I think every woman should watch it too.
There are millions of couples who want to adopt a child, so abortion isn't just a crime, but it's sooo unnecessary.
I read a true story about a woman who was raped and became pregnant, she decided to keep the baby. The baby grew up to become a successful doctor who helps the lives of many many people. See, people think it's terrible to have the baby because they didn't want the baby to know he/she was a result of rape. But if we believe that God is in control .. God can turn even the worst ... to something wonderful! Abortion is a NO NO.

I am totally against it. My reason? Check out what it does to the unborn babies online. My daughter showed me pictures of aborted babies, and it literally made me sick!! How anyone can do that to an innocent life is beyond me! I totally disagree about a woman's body is her own too (her body yes, but, not the life of an unborn! That is not HER body!) I think the father of the child should also have a say. I think its totally ignorant of a woman to take away the baby's life, if the father wanted it. What gives?! Life starts at conception, I don't care how small it is!! Do some digging online and you'll see what I mean! Ugh!

I am against it for myself, but I cannot be so rigid is denying it to others, although I wish an alternate solution could be found for the majority of cases. I think my own problems with infertility, coupled with 5 miscarriages (although I have 2 beautiful children now) has made me feel so sad for those lost little lives. As well, during all of the infertility meetings and appointments, I met so many people who would be grateful for a newborn to hold and love and it is such a waste. That being said, again, it still has to be a personal choice.

I personally beleive in the womens right to choose...I believe in what I do becasue I had the choice....I choose to have my baby. I dont think that Im perfect.....and that I do not have the right to tell another women what she needs to do with body or life. I also dont past judgement or look down on people that have an abortions because my best friend had one (scared and young) and now she feels bad about it...and I think its on of the worst emotional upsets a women could go threw.
