Didn't see your previous question but maybe if people read the bible more they would understand this deeply rooted hatred for either side. No question about it if a person read the history of Israel they would see that the Palestinians have been greatly wronged however, consider that your audience (Christians) most of which don't know the history behind the Palestinians have just chosen sides for whatever reason. The reasoning is based on religion and not law unfortunately.

It seems as though as bad as it may sound that Palestinians have the fate similar to the American Indian and they are fighting with frustration and their lives. This is incredibly dehumanizing and I hope but highly doubt both sides would come to an agreement before this kicks off WWIII. There are a lot of unhappy countries right now. And let's hope N. Korea doesn't decide they want a little media attention again. Like the 4th of July. Things are sounding a little on the sensitive side in that neck of the woods.

Hmmmm, I also think it is extremely strange that not a lot of Americans discuss that just a couple yrs ago the US gave Israel 6 Billion dollars most of which was a forgivable loans. That same yr for the entire continent of Africa gave out 600 million dollars most of which was loans at high interest rates.
But, that's a whole nother issue.

This is a vast over-simplification of the situation. If that were all that there was to it, then no question.....the UN mandate was wrong, and the people who were living on the land at the time (and now their decedents) should fight. That one small speck of the planet earth has had more and the bloodiest battles fought over it than anywhere else. Who does the land belong to? Jews? Romans? Greeks? Egyptians? Macedonians? Cypriots? Persians? Turks? Palestinians? Britons? Eastern Orthodox? Roman Catholics? Muslims? Southern Baptist? Right-wing evangelicals?

It's a small plot of soil (comparatively speaking). The whole religious-myth making machine has made it into some kind of "holy land" that their god reserved for itself. Take away the mysticism, and the solution is simple....

There is no arguing that the Israelis have turned a hunk of desert into some very livable (and in some cases luxurious) areas. They keep those since they put in all the hard toil and effort. Egypt and Syria get all the land back they lost (except the areas mentioned above if applicable). If they wish to cede it to the Palestinians, all the better, but it must be made clear...it's THEIR PROBLEM now. Jerusalem is leveled. All temples, buildings, so called "holy sites"....gone. No more "old city", no more "christian sector", no more battles. The land is divided equally between Israel and the Palestinians. If they wish to build new "holy sites", fine.... rebuild with the original stones on the new site even....they can even pretend that god told them where to build it....doesn't matter just so at long last, after thousands of years of war and bloodshed....the fighting over this ridiculous city ends.

The Israelis have done everything they could to live peacefully with the terrorists that surround them on all sides. They have even bulldozed their own settlements and gave the land to the Arabs. But the suicide bombers and the missiles keep coming. When they kidnapped Israeli soldiers, Israel had enough. They have a right to defend themselves. Israel is the only democracy in the middle east and the only ally of the US in the region. These are the same terrorists that bombed us on 9-11 and the British, India and other countries. Why would you support them? Israel is doing what we should be doing.

The real issue here is what effect appeasement had. Israel settlers were cruelly removed from their homes (which were given to savages to rape and despoil) in the interests of peace. The result was a genocidal wave of rockets launched into the heart of the country.

Muslims are evil, wicked, vile people with nothing but murder on their minds. There can be no peace with them because of this. The only alternative is forced disamament and making them behave at gunpoint. To do anything but this leads to war....or extermination.

No but if you were in your home because it was stolen from another family years before, and the real owners sued in court and won ( how it does in the US) and you refused to move, then thepolice would come in at gun point and remove you from the home that was stolen before.

They won the war, got thier land, and has destoyed anyone that has tried to interfere. I guess the other nations should figure this out before they decide to take some more promised land back.

That's a great question. We are all seeing what Israel can do when they are aggravated, so in this hypothetical situation, I am torn between giving up quietly to avoid harm to my children while running the risk of being shamed forever, OR standing up for what is ours and forever regretting the harm that would no doubt come to them. It's a lose-lose scenario.

No one removed anyone forcibly, once the UN decreed the land to Israel and the British ltroops eft the Arabs attacked with total disrespect to the ruling of the UN. (1948)

Bottom line is you have to respect laws.

my take on the issue is this: if Israel has to be returned to the Jews, then why not....
populate France with Celtic-speaking people?
turn in all of Spain to the Basques?
force Egypt to speak the original language of the pharoahs?
How about turning in all of the U.S. to the Indians?

Now...Israelis pay alot of money for gas.

Simply add my comparisons with the little factoid...and you might have an answer.
