My bf who is working in another country is in a very bad situation now. It seems to be the reasons why he has been silent although I tried to contact him. What should i do now:
- move on
- ask my friend living near him to come to his place and check it out for me.

You should never give up so easily. Especially since you said he is in a bad situation.

Yes definitely have the friend check to make sure he is alright but if he's refusing to contact you the relationship appears to be pretty much over to me.
