why in the world would you want to remove ppm levels of sodium from your tap water?

as you point out, large expensive reverse osmosis can remove some sodium, and then you will have ppb levels

why don't you vacuum distill all your water, with repeated vacuum distillation you can probably get to ppt levels of sodium

but that is just crazy!
our bodies need sodium

you could not possibly drink enough tap water with 50 or 100 ppm of sodium in it to hurt you

relax
enjoy

its water, as drunk by all our ancestors

its good for you

Removing levels that low will cause other problems such as acidity, bacterial contamination, and of course cost. Many people pay extra for the sodium in bottle spring water.
