I just think that it is amazing how many people really don't know as much about the world as they should. It was startling for me to realize that. That's why I feel so obligated to answer certain questions just to wake someone up, and share my thoughts so they can look t it in a different way Do you agree?

Are you truly that surprised?Doesn't it make you wonder about the age bracket of the people asking some of these questions?(Both physically and mentally?)Being of help to someone who truly wants it seems to be a thing of the past..........and as far as getting them to look at a different point of view.Good luck. But "I" do agree!

Orange, I think 90% of the questions here are asked by children and/ or they are not serious questions. It seems that a lot of people just use Yahoo! Answers to cry out for some kind of human contact -- they will say or ask anything just to get an answer.

It is surprising to me, but like you, it makes me feel like I should try to help.. it seems a lot of people need help of some sort or the other... real information, or even just a little attention

Yes.
I try to cause people to really think. Some people are crying from their souls for a bit of human kindness or encouragement.
Some are trying to understand this world and humanity and I want to help steer their minds into thinking positively and bettering their situations.
Children need to be guided. Sometimes a child can not confide in a parent, and I believe responsible adults should handle them very carefully. A child is so fragile.
Laughter has it's place here, also.
Obscenity and vulgarity is repugnant to me. I have little tolerance for it.
I was shocked at the lack of apparent education.
Our world is in serious jeopardy. We need to strive to better it. One person taking one step forward to help is worth all the inane words I sift through here.
I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Yes, the ignorance and misinformation flows like a mighty river through Yahoo answer land.

I hate to think how many people have come away from here thinking they have received sound advice on legal, medical, or financial issues.

The one that really bugs me though is where someone needs some good solid information like how to evaluate alternative courses of action and people suggest drivel like praying for an answer.

I'm not really surprised at the answers to some questions as often as I am at the questions. IMO, most of the outrageous ones are politically motivated others are simply trying to get angry or abusive answers so they can report those people.

LOL You are teh stupid, if you don't like it leeve the cuontry.

Luckily most answers are not as bad as the example I provided, but I agree. It is scary the kinds of answers I see here. Everything from blatant racism to "I will pray for you" types of answers. If these are the kinds of people operating within Western society, I better move to Argentina before the Northern Hemisphere explodes.

Well, I might be surprised at first, but I got used to it, I guess.
I think some people are genuine, but some are only new in Yahoo! Answers and wanted to try with a 'simple' question.

I'm not muslim, I'm not jew, I'm not christian, but I'm surprised how American people seems to be brainwashed by their medias as concerns Israel/Lebanon conflict or Irak's war.

Do you sometimes read some foreigner papers to open your mind and have another sound of what's happening in the world ?

Do you sometime read Israel's and Lebanon's history before saying so many anti-muslim talks ?
