My daughter has acid reflux very bad. She has to have alot of cereal in every bottle. I know that I need to be making the transition to sippie cups, bit I'm not sure what type I should buy. Right now we are just giving her water or juice sometimes to try to get her used to drinking out of the cup a little bit.

Nubby is a good transion cup, but not leak proof. The spout only has to be squeezed before it is leaking. But it is very cheap and a good one to start on. My daughter's favorite is the Gerber cup, she can knock the valve in it loose when she throws it on the floor, but it is her favorite and ours too! Unless we make her mad (that is when she throws it) or it is empty (another reason to throw it, but nothing to leak) we don't have to worry about the valve popping out.

I wouldn't recommend Tummy Ticklers, I work for Wal-Mart, and I have found they are also really made for an older toddler (like TWO/THREE). They are no more then high priced sports bottles with characters on it!

I would also call and ask you doctor what he/she would recommend simply because they have worked with your daughter and all.

Am a mother of four girls 9 , 8 , 5 & 19 months.
If she was my daughter I would just wait on the cup a little bit longer. I think this is one of the most important things I learned as a mother. Babies and kids do things when there ready and no Dr. or book can say at 8 months they must be drinking from a sippie cup. A good friend told me when my now 5 year old was 3 and still not potty trained , " She won't graduate high school in huggies " shortly after Miss Aurora was ready ,she moved up to big girl panies.
Your baby girl won't graduate high school with her bottle. And I hope with out any tummy promblems too! Not that I wouldn't keep trying but don't get upset if she doesn't want it or throws it at your head :) Poor angel I hope her acid reflux resolves.

Best of Luck

I have 4 kids. Two grown 23 & 24 and a 14 yr old and a 2 1/2 year old. The best nonleak sippy cup I've ever used is called TUMMY TICKLERS.
Go to www.tummytickler.com
You can buy them at WalMart, Kroger, Albertsons etc.
Its juice in a reusable bottle with a sippy type top. My son drinks chocolate milk and he always drinks one overnight. In the morning no matter what kind of nipple we used or how expensive of a sippy cup we bought it would leak drops of chocolate milk on the mattress. I stumbled upon the tummytickler drinks at Walmart and have absolutely loved them ever sense! He doesn't like the juice, so I just buy them for the bottle. They're that good!

The woman that is talking about tummyticklers being for older kids is wrong. The company does make them for older kids BUT those are called BELLYWASHERS and the spout is like a sports bottle. However the TUMMYTICKLERS are made for older babies (sitting up and toddlers see website). Thats why they are usaully in the infant section by the juice as well as in the regular juice section.
Listen to the mom thats been one for almost 25 years (me)....try them I don't think you'll be disappointed...PLUS there aren't pieces to keep up with and clean like some sippy cups...Its one piece!

get ones with handles at first so baby can learn to do it herself. I gave my boys cups beginning at 5 months so they would become accostomed to the cup and not depend on the bottle as much..I would go with the playtex sipsters the gerber ones don't hold up as well. The valves become loose and fall out into the cup (huge pain in the...)

I bought my daughter the Advent sippie cup as that was the type of bottle she used. They are great! No spills, no problems getting the liquid...some are hard to suck on...she loves it!

7.5 months is still young yet. If she is not ready dont force it on her. each child develops at a different rate. By the way milk seems to help me with acid reflux

Avoid anything with a hard to clean valve. Especially if you're adding cereal.
