I am disgusted by the insensitive answers people give on there. I keep seeing questions about suicide and there are always the smart asses who actually give advice to perhaps mentally instable people about how to do it. It is completely immoral and wrong, even if noone is really thinking of suicide and just joking around. I dont know how any answers could ever be competent and i think that people dont realize what responsibility they assume on their shoulders when they respond in the mental health section. What do you think?

They could also only forbid questions on suicide.
I understand your argument very well and think I agree.
Especially on the part that we are not qualified to give advice on medical issues and the responsibility no matter how good our intentions are.
It' difficult tough.Maybe for some desperate individuals out there this is really the only way to ask help or talk about it.
Even if there less than 1 out of 1000 on the suicide questions seems wrong to shut it down.
How bout a link to suicide council on yahoo answers?

I didn't know we had a mental health section here. Are you saying that people actually take this thing seriously? Come on!

You can't police the idiots. Some people give honest, helpful answers. Hopefully the asker can tell the difference.

Even if they closed that section, people would ask the same questions and get the same dumb and insensitive answers.

It shouldn't be closed but maybe have a warning with it reminding people these are not professional answers but opinions of every day people.

i bypass into both one in all those sections yet no longer to guarantee myself that i'm usual. i'm faraway from usual. i opt to attempt to help those who've similar complications as my own. plus i opt to be a psychologist(:
