Well, are you a guy? If you are, then you aren't really expected to know what an eye-liner sharpener is by name. You are not dumb. Most girls would ask for the star shaped thingy mabob when referring to a Phillip's screwdriver, so why should you know what females use for their make up? Maybe she was calling you a "nerd" in a flirty fun way. That's how I would take it.
Are you a girl? Then I guess you should have known what it was unless you are of an age that you don't wear a lot of make up yet. In any case, you shouldn't have been called a nerd for having a brain fog on what something is called. Malicious b****!!!
Ha Ha, just kidding on that one. Take it in stride. You did nothing wrong whether you are a boy or a girl.

Nerd isn't the worst think to be called. Girls like a nerd if he's funny. ;) If she had looked at you and said something like "Ewwww! Leave me alone, freak!" Then you'd have a problem.
