Because no matter who you are, you're unpatriotic. If you're conservative, liberals think you're unpatriotic. If you're a liberal, conservatives will call you unpatriotic. That way, everybody is unpatriotic.
It all boils down to your definition of patriotism. Patriotism isn't blindly following everything our leaders say and do. It involves questioning them and keeping them accountable for the things they do in our name. It is also not shouting down everything that they do just because you don't like them.
