I'm very frightned...Maybe I'M NOT really understanding, but help me out.

What do you mean, next? Like, next to be attacked? We've been getting attacked for over twenty years, sweety.

We're safe basically because of our geography-surrounded by water, and because we can live sufficiently mostly by our own resources. Unfortunately, the superpower will fall, Korea,Germany and Iran will rise. When? Well, I read about this over a year ago. So far, Korea upped the ante and Iran has stepped up to the plate.
Here's whats best:do what you can. If you cant do anything about it, in all reality, then stop learning about it. Enjoy your life, love people, volunteer, go to school, have a hobby, a pet, whatever you need to be happy. If you have faith, pray. BUT>>>if you can help-do-you will feel better if you can. And if not, turn off the news.We are stuck in the age of information. We are responsibile for what we take in. Theres plenty of goodness yet on earth, find it. I hope you do.

Hi Rossie,

It is very good that you are trying to stay informed on the frightening events going on in the world today. I can also understand why you feel depressed and afraid for your safety. I do not have a lot of comfort to offer you. However, you may feel comforted to know that your government is working for you, for your safety at home, and abroad. These websites show what our government is doing to keep you safe, show just how strong our nation is, and provides information on what you can do in the event of a potential threat:

When you are searching for information about current world events, try using a variety of news organizations. I use a mixture of US sources and outside sources. Also, limit your news time to one hour or less per day. Thirty minutes in the morning and thirty in the evening. This is my preferred news and information sites (you may want to develop your own list of favorites):

http://www.cnn.com/
http://news.bbc.co.uk/
http://www.iht.com/
http://www.csmonitor.com/

This is a list of Israel-Palestinian specific sources: (Most of these are NOT in any way neutral)

Two sources where you can find ways to affect positive change (always makes me feel better):

http://www.un.org/english/

I think that the best things we ordinary citizens can do are to help those who are suffering, to develop a well informed opinion on what is happening in the world around us, and inform our elected officials on our opinions.

I hope you will find a way to express your concern and develop your own way to affect positive change at home and in the world around you.
