A sun roof is what you see on most cars from the factory. An example would be a 98 Mitsubishi Eclipse. It is when the glass just tilts up. A moon roof is when the glass hides into the car and you dont see any of it when it is open. This is usually on a bigger car, because it requires more room.

Um...you use the moon roof at night, and the sun roof during the day. Some days you have to use your cloud roof or your rain roof.

A moon roof is special glass that filters out sunlight but lets moonlight in. Just kidding, I have no idea what the difference is.

well I don't know which is which but, one is glass, and one is glass plus a sliding door that covers it. Or if you don't buy that one then one is a sun roof on a cheaper car and a moon roof is on a luxury car then they can charge you more cause it sounds like it is more expensive.

From what I surely have heard there is no distinction. i imagine it only relies upon on the position you stay. the following in AZ we call them moon roofs as a results of the indisputable fact that is so warm outdoors. So many times they're open at nighttime. :)
