I think that Bush is an *** for vetoing this bill. Stem cell research can be so promising, but it is being halted by Bush and his cronies. There will NOT be an army of fetus' being developed simply for stem cell research - this is unethical. In fact, most of the proponents for stem cell research state that the stem cells will come from babies that are still born, miscarried or aborted by the birth mother's choice. Bush needs to pull his head out of his posterior and start helping out individuals that are counting on stem cell research to help them live a productive and happy life.

I think if stem cell research could help a person to live, or fight/cure a disease already in the world, then I am all for it. On the other hand, if this is not the reason then why do it. I also understand Bush's point of view as one of a moral principle.

I think he is wrong to stop it. Stem cell research can help thousands of people. Hope the next president has more brains than Bush.

The veto only keeps them from using government $$ on what is considered "viable life". They have plenty of private funds coming in to support the research. People are all ticked because they think the government will be taking all the $$ out of it. That couldnt be further from the truth.

Mixed emotions. I like technology and the good it can do, but I don't like the hands it keeps ending up in. Seems like those in power have to be pretty corrupt to get there these days. Look what they are doing with the technology they have now. They are using it against us. I hate to think what they would do with the power that comes from the tree of life if they were to get it. No wonder God has kept us away from it so far...

Then again, I wouldn't doubt that the govt has already got it down, and simply doesn't want the populace to have access to it. After all, we are overpopulated as it is in their eyes.

This research has incredible promise. It is making use of cells that would otherwise be disposed of. Why not bring some good out of an unfortunate situation??? While I admire the Prez's willingness to stick to his position, I think he has hurt his party's chances in the next round of elections.

President Bush promised while campaigning for re-election to oppose federal tax money going to stem cell research.

He has kept his promise. So what's the problem?

I think Bush did the right thing. It was especially moving how he brought out families who had adopted embryos (who are now full-grown kids) -- it shows just what those cells are that scientists are wanting to cannibalize for parts: babies.

I totally agree with the last 2!! I say "do-it" to help others with the illness`s!!! Noone wants a perfectly born fetus to perform this task!! When i die i am donating body parts to whoever can use them! It "could" be ur child or ur loved one!!
I think BUSH SUCKS!!!!
