My friend has body odor, just in the armpit area, but it can be pretty bad sometimes. How do I tell her... nicely because I care about her feelings!!! ??? What do I recommend to help her out?? Thnx! PS-She showers everyday, and it isn't like extremely bad, but it IS noticable.

Well, that is a tricky one. First, consider how close you are as friends. Do you talk about a lot of personal stuff, or do you just hang out together. Big difference in how she could take what you say. If your really not that close, then she could very easily be overly offended.
Now to bring it up. Pick an ANTIPERSPERANT (not just deodorant) that is new or you like and say "have you tried this new stuff (use the name of the brand)? (for example there are a lot of new Antipersperants that have yummy fragrances like cucumber melon) That should open the door for you. She would probably say "no" then you can say, oh, what do you use? then take it from there. She could just be using a deodorant which does not stop perspiration, thus causing odor problems. To that you could say, "ya know, I always use an antipersperant because I've always heard (from mom, or whatever) that it stops you from perspiring and keeps you from smelling weird half way through the day." Then take the conversation back to the ones you like, by saying something like, "I really like the new Dove cucumber melon, you should try it." From that, maybe she will say she will, and she'll really think about what you said. Maybe she's just never had anyone explain basic hygeine to her, or she really doesn't have anone to talk to. It happens. Be prepared thought if she asks you if you think she stinks or something, just be very gentle, and say something like " you know, people get confused about deodorants and antipersperants all the time." Good luck, hon. Hope this helps.

Tell her to wear Secret or some other deodorant - or if you don't want to be the messenger - give her a gift of perfumes and such and include deodorant with it.
"Or be like I use Axe, do you wear anything?" (No.) "Why not?" (Because blah blah.) "Well, I thought you would cause my sister /or/ all the other girls I know do."
Or if you're in with her parents, tell them, because they'll tell their daughter - or better if she has siblings to tell.
If she already wears deodorant then I don't know, because that's just fugged. There is probably some herbal supplement out there that changes the consistency of sweat or prevents it - tell her to get it.
Sage tea is usually very effective for excessive sweating. She should avoid spicy foods and make sure she's well hydrated. Key ways to achieve this is invite her over for tea and have some Sage tea, get her into it so she drinks it regularly - maybe get a box of it as a gift - she'll have no idea its a herbal remedy.

Oh.. that is a tough one.. If you tell her.. she will be upset with you.. If you give her a cake of soap.. she will not like it. You might mention(it would be a lie perhaps) that your friend Mary has a problem.. She does not brush her teeth and she has mouth odor and also underarm odor and that maybe you will get her an arm pit deodorant but do not know what kind to get and ask your friend if she has any suggestions.

Most of these answers must have come from Americans. Here is the European answer: You take her aside, when nobody is around, and tell her: "You're a beauty, but you need to spray more deodorizer under those arms, cause you smell like a marathon runner. Now do it and get 2 new girl/boyfriends!"

Just start a conversation about it... talk about how hot it has been lately and then tell her that it may be a good idea to go shopping for an stronger deodorant. You don't have to tell her that is only for her... let her think you feel you need one as well. After all you will be helping a friend ;)

I recommend highly you buy a bath and body works set for her and drop in a strong deodorant- one maybe for males into the gift bag. Just kidding- I think you should tell her or go with my original plan only drop in a strong female deodorant.

Honestly, there is no real nice way of putting it to her. I would start off asking what kind of deodorant she wears. Then I would recommend something better like Degree, that is supposed to work all day long.

just tell her nicely ~ because she does need to know. if you don't tell her some other mean person will. just say " i know you take a bath everyday, but i don't know how to tell you that your pits probably need a new deodorant. I'm not trying to be mean i just feel that you should know" then hopefully if shes understanding she'll take the advise and put more deodorant.
