He11, no. TiVo is the biggest ripoff in the world. Other brands sell their DVRs ready to use- some with free service- but TiVo, who I might add is a Mexican company, locks their DVRs and forcesyouto sign up for service to be able to use them. It's not so bad now, because they provide you with the machine for free, but you still have to pay the monthly fee. No one should ever have to pay over and over again for a DVR. What if you had to pay a fee every time you wanted to watch a movie on your DVD player? I Don't Think So! I bought a TiVo when they were $100, then they dropped to $50, then to zero, leaving a whole lot of people with the feeling that they had REALLY been boned in the a**! I suggest to TiVo that if they want any of us to actually sign up for their service, they should first refund the total purchase price. Furthermore, I would suggest to you not to buy a TiVo, but to instead buy a DVR that works when you buy it.

My wife loves our TIVO.

No more tapes and no complicated programming. You can pause live TV. You don't have program a day & time just click on the name of the program you want.

I can upload from TIVO to my PC and watch shows there or burn it to DVD.

TIVO knows when there is a schedule change so even when TV guide is wrong TIVO knows when to record.

The new dual turner TIVO will record two shows at once.

You will love a TIVO

We can't live without it. The one device in the last 5 years that has changed our lives. We don't watch as much programming as most people, but when we can we watch exactly what we want while quickly skipping through the commercials. In my opinion TiVo has many superior capabilities over cable DVR's.

NO, Tivo costs way too much. Elgato Systems is free after you purchase the DVR recording device.

i would highly recommend them, especially if you have a mac computer or Video Ipod. you can then upload all your recored shows to iPod

TiVo is a DVR. Be warned: once you get it, you cannot watch TV without it.

Yes!!! I was sceptical, but it's wonderful. Hard to imagine not having it. If I want to watch something live, I tune in 15 mins. after it starts and speed though the adverts that way I don't spend as much time watching the program.
