No. You'll get anesthesia for the pain during the procedure, and you won't feel a thing. (I must admit, though, I kept my sock over my eyes because I was so scared it WOULD hurt. but it didn't at all.) Afterwards, they'll wrap it to stop the bleeding. Mine stung just a little when I was changing the bandage for the first time, but after that, it didn't hurt at all. And it healed really fast. So don't worry, you'll be fine. :)

I had my whole toenail removed from my big toe. I dropped a manhole lid on it and it was still attached. The doctor will numb it all over, that part stings a little, but after that you will not feel a thing and if you have a weak stomach, just lay back and don't look.

I'm not sure where these people have had this done...but...I've had 2 done and so has my son. The shots to numb the toe hurt like crazy! But once it's numb you don't feel a thing. Once the procedure is done you're toe will feel tons better. My son played basketball right after!

Good luck

I had both my big toes done not long ago, its scary, but its all worth it, the doctor will make sure you feel nothing. After wards you might as I did wear a booty on your feet for awhile but after your healed up you will be glad you had it done, I don't have any more problems now that mine are done, If your really afraid talk to your doctor before he or she does this ,, Good Luck!!

There will be very little pain if your doctor is doing it right, I have seen it done many times, one time a nurse had it done right before she went home from work, she was back to work the next morning. Good luck

Im guessing you have one ingrown. Had it done on both of my big toes. First, they'll give you an anesthetic on your toe ( 3 pricks of the needle on the toe), then you shouldn't feel a thing. But dont watch what the podiatrist does! Whatever you do!

Sounds like you have an ingrown toetail... It is no Party to have them worked on...I cut a v , in the center of mine and it will relieve the pressure for time being.

My brother had four taken out without any pain. Not even the needles to numb the pain.
