read about them know about their ilness and be ready for it if it comes up
have a cage right for them i don't like cages with wire bottoms it bad for the little feet and dangorouse they have great ferret cages from small to super large i have all,
high protein ferret food or kitten food stay away from cat food and fish food
don't bath them more than 1 a month if less
buy some dry shampoo and mist just in case
bedding i use old clothing towels on the bottom and bought fleese blanket for the hanging bed they love to burrow them self
ferret proof your room your going to keep them in ~~~~They can not live in a cage they need time out side of the cage i let mine out tell they are tired then back in this goes on all day and if one want up they all get up same with bed time after awhile they all start on the same time execept gizmo she is my alarm clock.
keep the cage clean and you won't have stinky ferret.
litter that dose not clup or is dust free their are a lot out their cheap litter is the worst so be prepared to pay for a clean pan.
know they are one animal that can get and give the common cold and flue so be carfull if you are sick or they are.
why I tell you to know their illness is the biggest con because they are very very prone to several cancers and other diseases.
Find a very knolageable vet
and be perpared to fall in love because for a small animal they have a huge soul
do all this and you may be lucky to have yours for at least 10 year or more.
If you need more info e-mail me.

most pet stores will only sell ferrets if they've been spayed/nuetered and descented so you most likely wont have to worry about doing that - but they will smell a bit musty - especially the males. They will require baths but remember not to bathe them too often since their body will produce more oils if their skin gets too dried out and become stinkier. It is better to get 2 and you must take them out at least once a day for playtime - it is best to stick to a schedule since they spend alot of time sleeping. they can be litter trained and also taught tricks. Ferrets are also known to hoard things - they steal things around the house and usually stash them in some sort of hiding place. they also love to chew rubber so watch your shoes and especially wires and cords around the house. Read up online and buy some books before buying a ferret - they are time consuming and require lots of love and attention.

Get two if you get any. They play pretty rough and need another ferret for that. Whatever you do, make sure they are descented!!! Buy some ferret cologne. Get lots of ferret toys for them to hide. Don't leave out anything shiny that you want to keep, because they will hide it!! Especially jewelry. They live about 5-7 years in captivity and about 15 in the wild.
Much Love!!

They make great pets and usually live to around 10 in England and Australia, and to about 8 years old in the States.

If you get one that is descented and fixed you don't have much to worry about - you can train them to use a litter box inside of their cage, let them run freely or whatever it is you wish to do. The biggest thing you have to train your ferret on is keeping them from nipping at your hands. They aren't generally mean animals but they love to play and they pretend to attack your hands and every once in a while you'll actually get bit, but if you flick them gently on the end of the nose (they hate it) eventually you won't get bitten at all. If you get one that isn't descented they stink horribly!!!!

a million. dudes be honest how lots of you had g/f's (or b/f) you surely loved and did not only be with them cuz they loved you? one 2. what may you do in this example? even as my pal requested me i'd say ummmmm a deer with a field on its neck nicely ummm one jumped in the front of my automobile and that i couldnt stop in time. then i'd seem for the letters then even as there no longer there tell him and run out of the door so he wouldnt kill me. even as he chases me i'd ask who has a puppy deer besides.

mine was a great pet, yes they have a musky smell but you can have them descented. she lived 10 years, ate catfood, loved ice cream. had two litter boxes in the house in different places, seemed to work better as i did read it in a book. eventually i put her in a big cage because she kept waking me up in the middle of the night by nibbling on my toes.haha..they hate cats..and they may bite a stranger..good luck and have fun
