The Morris Ital must deserve a mention here, and the 1990 Ford Escort.
My vote would probably go for the ZAZ Tavrija from the Ukraine, but I'd need a geographer to confirm that the Ukraine is in Europe.
The Renault 4 was a good car in its day, as was the Lada (originally the Fiat 124), but they were well behind the competition by the 1980s. The Ital and the 1990 Escort were well behind the competition when launched, which is a huge difference.
The Multipla is a brilliant car, that just looks odd. Wonderful practicality and a great driving experience, but too many people can't see past the styling.

Probably a Trabant but then a poor ride is better than a good walk.It depends from which society you come from in the old USSR it did provide a means of transport and there were waiting lists for them.Regards Mick

Nothing wrong with a Renault 4! Yank cars are the worse than Euro cars all day long - Start with Saturn's, why would you even buy a car named a Saturn...

I'm pretty sure it was the Trabant made in the former GDR. Drove one once. Almost as a bad as the old Citroen Dyane. Among other things both had dodgy oil filters.

Volvo 340 series. Built in Belgium. Belgiums can't build cars. Other than that, Fiat 126.
