I wonder, how can we answer questions with really little knowledge except for our own experience and maybe education without taking full responsibility for the outcome of our answers. There are people out there who want to lose 60 pounds and are 125 pounds, others who are contemplating a kind of rape or people who are just very lost. How do we answer to them when they choose an answer that may cost them their future or their lives?

All we can do is hope that people see this community Q&A board for what it is: simply a sharing of view points. Hopefully they know that there are a lot of idiots and jerks on the internet, as well as friendly informative wise people. When it comes to message boards, you have to take everything with a grain of salt. I know that I do, and I think most people here do the same.

People who choose to commit selfish, destructive or unlawful acts will likely do so with or without any help or advice from Yahoo Answers.

If their lives and their future are determined by an answer they got on Yahoo Answers then they have a much BIGGER problem than the question they asked.

That's an aspect of human life. We touch the lives around us by everything we say and do.

Speaking only for myself, I try to get people to think about the issues, to provide new perspectives, to ask questions they may not have thought to ask. I try to provide some general information and guidance to help them in their search.

But in the end, we only ever have two types of information. What we've chosen to believe that we've figured out for ourselves. And what we've chosen to believe that other people have told us.

I try to help people choose what they want to believe for themselves.

I TRY TO ANSWER PEOPLE'S QUESTIONS AS THOUGH I ASKED THEM, THAT WAY I'M GIVING ADVICE LIKE A WOULD DO A GOOD FRIEND. NO MATTER WHAT CHOICE A PERSON MAKES THERE ARE ALWAYS CONSEQUENCES, AND THE CHOICE THAT A PERSON MAKES IS STILL THEIR OWN DECISION AND RESPONSIBILTY.
