No. It will ultimately fail because, when you do finally spend face-to-face time together, there's too much "build up" to make the relationship work and you'd be projecting to many promises onto the hope that something would come from it if it doesn't initially have a spark. The best relationships are those that begin with an inital attraction in person, and those that grow from there.
You didn't mention what town/city you living in now, but I'd encourage you -- even if you want to keep the phone relationship going -- to at least see other people. Just be sure those other people are in person first.

It can be possible to go that long without meeting in person if there are really good reasons why you can't meet. Unless that is truly the case, I'd be a little skeptical, and wonder what he's hiding. As far as sex goes, you're supposed to wait until marriage. If the two of you really love each other, your sex life will be okay.

Yes you can have a relationship that can go on for years. But it won't be a true relationship. A true relationship needs that physical intimacy, which makes it a sure one.

i had a relationship like that before...but it was hard not having sex...but if you really like the person you'll get over it...
